want to buy cayenne turbo s

Sits on-top of the engine on the right side. Super easy to access. Its the black circular disc thing. Following from that there are vacuum lines moving towards the front of the engine. At the junction of the line is the PCV valve.

Anyone able to recommend a shop that is able to do pre purchase inspection on turbo s that is for sale at Grand Rapids Porsche in Grand Rapids, Michigan ? Anyone local to this area?

If you buy this one off Amazon, the cap may not fit, so just replace the gasket and spring and re-use the old cap. Getting the cap off takes some work FYI

I have been off the boards pretty much last two years, so things that come to mind for PPI:
Cylinder scoring. - Dunno, sounds like consensus is pre 2009?
Rear Water distrubtion Niple coming out. - Thousands to fix if you don't have the patience for all the tricks, baby strapped to your chest and reaching over the engine towards the firewall? Dropping transmission?
Corroded wires under the drivers footwell carpet - 20$
Broken Sunglass holder - 40$ in parts
If it has the full panorama roof, squeaking, leaks or noise issues. - Thousands
Cardan shaft. - 1k to 2k much less if you buy refurbed.
I had a front oil leak, not sure if anyone else has those, near the timing chain area. - Thousands
Temperature sensor rear of engine not working. - 1 to 2k.
Kessy failures - sensors seem to go bad, can be the module it self.

I think those prices are a bit extreme. I can replace the temp sensor in under two hours for about the cost of the sensor.
Cardan shaft 800 new from Porsche or a one piece upgrade from The DSS.
Kessy failure not that common. I just did a board for a guy. 28$ for a nice 60w soldering iron on ebay, 10$ for like 20 mini melf resistors, and there could be one of two types of mosfets. I got 4 of each for like another 10$. Got rid of 6 antennae faults in the kessy, eliminated the power drain, and the system works flawlessly for the first time in years. Less than two hours of my time. Saved him over 1500$ at the dealer assuming he would have gotten an honest diagnosis.

The water distribution nipple - I noted in some 958 service info a section on removing the panel directly behind the engine in the engine compartment. This is the plastic panel that separates the cowl area from the rest of the engine. While it wasn't trivial to do - it would appear as a better/cheaper option than dropping the engine as is apparently commonly done when the crossover distributor needs replacement. I do know on my '06 S - the distributor was replaced without engine removal by a dealer - so I wonder if the same is possible on the 955/957.
