Default 2005 cayenne turbo led bulb high beam issue

I recently installed some ebay bought LED high beam lights with the fans in them, they work great, but i now have a check high beam light on my dash, is this normal for installing high beams? or should i have disconnected the battery before doing the bulb replacement?

The bulb monitor system measures the current flowing through a bulb to determine if it's OK. The LED replacement modules don't draw anywhere near enough current to satisfy that monitor - so you'll have the check high beam warning forever unless you add a resistor pack in parallel to the LED bulb to draw the same current as the halogen bulb did.

Quite a common issue actually.
