957 S vs GTS
Hi,
Is there a list to show the differences between the 4.8 S and 4.8 GTS please? Thanks |
Not that I've ever seen. Porsche likes to make "packages" - and sometimes the same name package can have different items included depending on the model of the vehicle. The GTS basically gets trim items from the turbo. I don't think there is any performance difference, but I could be wrong on that. And the GTS was available with manual shift - the only Cayenne in the US that was. Might be entirely different in the UK.

Thanks, I know its got 20 more bhp.

Body kit, bump to 405hp, alcantara interior, air suspension, sport exhaust, higher final drive (slightly faster acceleration and slightly worse MPG), red brake calipers, 21" rims
I'm sure there's an official list somewhere, too. |
air suspension?, I saw one that didn't have that, it just had the 3 PASM settings. (normal , comfort and sport)
|
The GTS comes stock with the Aero Package and is lower in each height setting, by 20mm I believe. As for the engine, the GTS has pretty much been 'chipped' from the factory. If you look for performance upgrades, you will see that many just increase the engine HP in the S to that of the stock GTS.

Confirm that it is equipped with Sport Exhaust...two pipes leading to the exhaust tips from the resonator. If not its a fake GTS. |
It is a GTS, VIN confirms that.

There were quite a few differences between the "S" and "GTS" models. Far from simply applying a bit of lipstick to the standard P!G....
I have a PDF sales brochure that shows all the differences. PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...f145875388.jpg |

Did someone add the GTS emblem? This is one trick often done with the Turbo S here in the US.

It would be quite difficult to make a GTS out of an S... 21" rims aren't cheap, Red brake calipers (vs silver for base and S) are kinda hard to miss, not to mention the body kit, GTS labels on door sills and HVAC control door - all are easy visual identifiers besides the mechanical bits. I don't see any dealer however shady making a clone for reasonable money that would fool any person that's looking for a GTS and is willing to pay the $5000 premium that the GTS typically commands.
? If it was sold in the UK without this option I would expect the MSRP would have been considerably less. The used GTS price should not be much above an S for the rest of the GTS bits and pieces IMO. |
