Default Cayenne 957 - folding mirrors from key?

Hi. Wondering if it’s possibke to code this option onto the 957 so they fold in when you hold down the lock button?

Thanks

Quick answer - no. Not possible. For some reason Porsche didn't include this even though VW and Audi vehicles do offer it. Duh on Porsche.

Ok thanks for that - short and sweet. Now I’m wondering what it would take to make it do it!!

It would require hacking the operating software in the Cayenne and changing/adding code to make the fob able to fold the mirrors. If you aren't an accomplished programmer with eperience working on software in vehicles, this is unlikely to be an option. It is a lot easier and much less time-consuming to remember to fold the mirrors before you get out of the car.

There are much better challenges to ponder concerning these things.

It could probably be hacked in with a few hundred dollars worth of hardware, but it would never be worth the time and effort and having to bring a second remote around in your pocket and splicing into all of the factory wiring - particularly inside the door panels. Porsche has really locked down the security system on these vehicles. You will be hardpressed to find someone who is willing to even try to add a remote starter to one.

Would be nice to just punch a button for fold/unfold instead of turning the ****. Especially if the **** would stay in the off position so you don't accidentally readjust the mirror.

The only controller for the folding mirrors is the driver side dial rheostat. No need to "reverse engineer" this feature: exit vehicle, turn dial....DONE. No adding complicated modules, radios and tweaking PCM just to add a nifty key remote...

On the 958 with KESSY - pressing and holding the button on the door handle outside folds the mirrors (and locks the vehicle.) That works well enough for me.
