Oil Consumption - what's normal?
I've searched and read a variety of of answers - and a lot of the documentation seems dated.
What are you guys seeing for oil consumption? What's normal/abnormal? I have an 08 GTS and it seems to consume about 1/2-1 quart every 1000-1500 miles.

1/2 - 1 qt every 1000-1500 miles seems to be within Porsche's allowable limit. Having said all that, personally I would hate to see my car consume any oil at that rate. Bear in mind the rate of oil consumption also depends on how you drive. If you typically drive it in "track" mode all day long, it is going to consume oil. That is how internal combustion engine work. I don't baby my car, but I don't abuse it either and my 997.2 typically consumes about 1/2 qt between oil change (every 4k miles).

Do the DFI motors tend to consume more oil?
Our P!G is using about 1 qt. per oil change (7.5K mile interval). Current mileage is 193K miles.
Been using M1 0w-40 ever since acquiring about 4.5 years ago. Previous owner also was using M1 0w-40 @ 5K OCI.
Main usage is longer distance driving, very little city driving. (Same usage as previous owner.)

My CTT tuned to CTTS levels burns at the bare minimum allowable limit on Mobil 1 0w-40. Once I switched up to Motul 300V Power 5w-40 - consumption decreased back to liter every 1500 miles. Esters love metal surfaces and engine seals:

I think I'm at about a qt in 1500 using the M1 0W-40, I've got about 900 miles to go until my next change then I'll see where I stand. I'll likely switch over to Motul since I keep hearing great things about it. I do have to say that my Cayenne looked new and spotless under the valve covers when I swapped the gaskets at 140k. Similarly, my 968 which I've been feeding M1 15W-50 since I bought it 15yrs and 120,000 miles ago still looks brand new under the valve covers too.

Yikes!! That's a lot of oil. I've had my 2006 CS since new and have never added oil between the annual service. And its not been babied either. In fact towed a 6,600 lb Airstream to / from Alaska last summer. No problem over the mountains, etc. Currently at 86,xxx miles in 12+ yrs of service.
