Drove an hour in the blowing snow that stopped about the time we got home. A few back roads were snow packed with 2-3 cars in the ditch. Glad I left the snow tires on through the 60 degree temps we had last week!

09 GTS, 6 mt. I hear really no difference, normal to sport mode with the stock exhaust now....just way too quiet. I’ll attempt some sound clips, as a newbie to attempting any such thing, I make no promises

I have the Fabspeed secondary cat bypass pipes - non resonated - and it wasn't enough for me. It's a nice improvement outside the car, but barely noticeable from inside the car. Combining that with a performance muffler (cargraphic) is what got the sound to where I was happy with it. Still perfectly acceptable at highway cruising speeds, but now properly aggressive under hard acceleration. I also did an HHR CAI which makes the turbo noises and blow off valve sounds more noticeable too - now a performance sound symphony.

I'm interested to get your take on just the secondary bypass pipes.

Thanks guys. I have the turbo, so no Sport mode for me. The only thing i can say is i like the sound of my exhaust on cold morning starts. Then it settles down to barely audible.

I am looking for no 'rasp' while increasing 'rumble' through out the RPM range. Preferably only louder when accelerating. I am not against a $4,000 test purchase and install, but would rather not need to go that route.

I would start with secondary cat bypass pipes, then if you want more, add a sport muffler. My Turbo S sounds perfect to me. Quiet on the highway so long trips are not a problem, but properly loud under hard acceleration, and cold start will turn some heads.

No. There also aren't any downstream O2 sensors from the secondary cats so removing them has no effect on engine management, fueling, or anything else - they're completely redundant for emissions purposes only. You also won't believe what they weight once you get them off.

That's a beautiful and well put together Cayenne. I don't normally like black wheels but with the polished ring to break them up and the black door handles and window trim, it all works extremely well together. Clear side markers would look great!

Today I changed the front diff and transfer case oils: Lucas Oil 75W-140 for the diff and Porsche OEM for the transfer. Pretty easy and quick job thanks to all the DIYs available despite the really hard to loose fill plug in the differential but a few kicks made it.
Story is that I had some whine in the mid-forward cabin and thought it was time for the oils but unfortunately there was only one bottle of Lucas available and I'll do the rear when they stock back. The whine has disapeared up to 90-100 mph when it becomes alive again although less noticeable. I guess a thicker oil will make the diff happier when the real hot weather comes in Qatar.
After I finished the job I took the car for a full wash including the belly without the covers because it had a lot of sand and dust from the desert trips and dusty weather and tomorrow I`ll put the covers back afger checking for leaks.

And this puts another check mark in the to-do list.

Thanks Pete, Yes totally agree, completely black painted wheels need some contrast the Silver lip is perfect. The clear front corners will be next.

Drove to work during snow. Found out Yokohama G055 tires that came with the car is one of the worst tires in the snow.
