Default Schwaben Coolant Vacuum Fill Tool question

At last the coolant reservoir for my '04 CS arrived, so I made the switch, found all of the hoses in good order, though there was some scaling at the connection to the bottom hose where I suspected it had been leaking.

It refilled easily with the new vacuum device, but the reservoir seemed to need a 38mm plug and I was forced to make do with a 35mm. In the tight quarters I couldn't twist the adjuster down tightly enough that I couldn't pull it free, but of course it didn't take much suction to replace a gallon of coolant.

I hope the lack of a tight seal was the reason my attempts at a pressure test failed.

BTW: I couldn't find an obvious fault in the reservoir we removed.

Not sure if there is a question here?

I just refilled mine after a radiator replacement with an Airlift UView 550000 tool. I used the cone and had to hold it in place to maintain seal, but it held vacuum fine and refilled the entire system pretty quick.
