Hey everyone,

My power lift gate on my cayenne is not working. I have checked all fuses. It is also really really heavy to open manually. I’m trying to figure out if it needs the strut or if it needs the motor. I originally thought it would be the strut because of how difficult it is to open but then again I don’t hear the motor running. If there is anyone that could help me further diagnose this issue I would really appreciate it.

We need more information.

Do you see any dash warnings that the hatch is unlocked?
Did this start as an intermittent problem?

This may require a diagnostic code reader to troubleshoot.
Since it's not engine related a basic OBD reader will not help.

How old is your battery? One of the earliest signs of the battery going south is that you can't remotely raise and lower your lift gate three times in succession.

Open your trunk as high as possible manually. Press and hold the trunk close button until it beeps.

that reprograms the open limit of the trunk. Hope it works.
