Vcds How to
#106
I feel I need to elaborate on my comments to date. I have been a rusted on VCDS user for years so have become accustomed to that process. I did contact iCarSoft for assistance when I wasn't getting what I expected and I have to make a big call out to support for taking the time to go over my logs and provide a software update. Just waiting for a break in the weather to do another scan with the updated software to see if there are any differences.
Using the earlier software so far although the PDCC module is listed in the scanner, it doesn't connect and shows as "not fitted" when it certainly is. Level control shows as fitted but there were no readings for levels and pressures etc.
First thing is to do another manual scan (the bit I wouldn't need to do with VCDS) to see if anything has changed. Will report back if there is anything of value.

New to this thread. I have a original VCDS cable and tried to read my Porche cayenne 2015 3.0 tdi codes but got the response that there is an error reading ROD file. Any help would be great as I would like to use the VCDS on my porsche as it is very simmilar to vw touareg 3.0 tdi.
Thanks in advance
Not sure if anyone has had this error.

You need to hunt out all the posts on modifying your cable as that is needed to access most of the Controllers as Porsche has wired their system differently to VAG. As far as I know you won't get all the controllers in the Porsche with VAG-Com. Many other before me put up their experience with the Ross Tech product and the problems with using it on a Porsche.
