Nightmare after buying from pcarmarket
I bought a 996tt from this pcarmarket 1 month ago. Upon receiving the car, the car immediately was not mechanically sound. It had 10 year old tires, a severely beat interior, old battery, and a terrible whine from the transmission. I contact the seller about what was wrong with the car, and he claims the transmission noise was apart of the numeric and clutch installed in the car. I had the car inspected mechanically immediately after it arriving and they are quick to make a note about the transmission. Skeptical, I drive the car 500 miles and the clutch pedal drops dead. I take it to a shop and they have the entire clutch hydraulics replaced, despite the seller advertising new clutch hydraulics. 200 miles after, the transmission kills itself doing 15 miles an hour. The whine as it turns out, were wearing bearings within the transmission that ended up tearing apart my entire transmission. While I could've had the transmission dropped earlier had it been disclosed, now I am looking at a $15,000 transmission replacement because the seller told me to disregard the noise as it was "part of the package". Less than 1,000 miles into the car, I am $20,000 into a $60,000 car, one that was supposedly robust and reliable. I am frustrated. What I have is effectively a lemon, something that I wish never entered my life, but now I have spent more money than God trying to fix. I am beyond disgusted in the seller (who stopped talking to me when I asked about the transmission, that proceeded to blow up after) and this website for ignoring me and selling supposedly a working car. I have had a number of Porsche's in my life and nothing has ever come close to this in the lifetime of ownership, but this disaster has all occurred in the timespan of three weeks. I have experience with other auction websites who would've handled a situation such as this. The previous owner was clearly aware of the issue and passed his problem on to me. I would never recommend buying a car from them as they do not do the proper vetting other auction websites perform.

I would not blame this on the site
auction sites don't perform much if any vetting, auction site participants do as they discuss the good / bad of each car..

You need to take legal action against all parties you can’t lose anything

I had something similar with a PDK transmission on a new to me Panamera S shortly after purchase. Some shift sensor were working overtime because the fluid viscosity was thin and there wasn't proper pressure (PIWIS tool is worth it). I changed the fluid/filter immediately (easy and relatively inexpensive job I did myself) and the problem went away. Had I not, it might have been disastrous. Even then, I'm having the sensors replaced ($400 in parts plus new fluid again) prophylactically in pursuit of not having a bunch of gear shavings in the tranny and a $7000 repair bill. Weird sounds never lead to good outcomes.

Hey guys. Was pretty disappointed when I picked up my car of the shape it was in, but after a lot of headache (and a new transmission) she's running better than ever. Here are some pics I grabbed last night. Safe to say, she's staying for awhile.

Aside from your difficulties, it appears to be nice car. Owning Porsches can be expensive- some more than others. Curious if you tried contacting the seller to see if he would give you any portion of the repair cost for the transaxle as a goodwill gesture.

"AS IS" goes away when fraud is involved. Pcar helps with writing the ad which makes them complicit. Sue them all for treble damages. Smack them over the head with a subpoena, they will settle.

The fraud could be proven from the original owner
diminished value is also a winnable case

I recently purchased a car on BaT, with a..............................................
less than adequate transmission.
I contacted BaT and worked with them and the seller to a mutually agreed resolution.
IMO BaT provided better than expected customer service.

A friend bought a very high dollars pcar from BAT sold by a dealer. Immediately, spent close to 20k addressing the issues that was not disclosed on the ad. There is still more work to be done. One would expected a sorted car for the amount of money he spent. and it was advertised as such. Clearly misrepresented.
BAT didn't offer any kind of help. Your mileage may vary with them.

Another good example of why you get a PPI and possible Bore Scope Inspection PRIOR to purchasing a Porsche or any other high end car.

Not here to point any fingers or anything like that but considering this was the first time used this platform on a p-car, why didn't you opt for a ppi by an indy?
That way if the car failed, you could have easily either backed out of the deal or come up with a resolution with a seller and negate any regrets.

PCarMarket generally keeps the premium even if the sale doesn't work out for whatever reason, including that the car was misrepresented. Just something to consider and similar to other auction website policies.
