I'm on the hunt for a 986. I've owned several other Pcars, last being a 997, also currently have a Cayenne. I had to sell the 997 to fund a home purchase. I'm now on the hunt for an <10k boxster. Not concerned with miles if its been well maintained. I'm aware of the common issues IMSB, RMS, AOS, coolant tank and some of the other various issues. Further advice appreciated...

I'm located in NorCal and was looking at this car (via a computer screen). Anyone know this car, or live close enough to take a sniff for me?

Geez guys, no recommendations on reputable shop for PPI. Of course I can google, but would like some Rennlister locals opinion.

Looks to be a nice car but even the lemons look nice in the ad pics.

Can't help you with a shop recommendation in that area other than suggest you seek out the nearest Porsche dealer and see if it will do a PPI.

I have to wonder being in northern CA can't you find a suitable example closer to home?

I like to say shop globally but buy locally. I always like to be able to visit the car and give it a thorough road test then a used car check out.

I think you may be right Macster, this is turning into a headache for a sub 10k car.

Kill this thread!

Thanks for the advice!
