Looking at buying an 02 Boxster that blew up (IMS) and Porsche replaced with new motor under warranty in 04. Now has 20 some thousand miles on the second engine.
Exactly how would this engine be any different than the engine that blew up. Did Porsche do an upgrade on the ims bearing or is it the same ticking time bomb? Thanks in advance.

Its the exact same engine with the same IMS bearing, so doing something about the IMS is a good idea. if you want to sleep better
