Console Riser Kit now available for the 986 Boxster
The CONSOLE RISER KIT is now available for the 986 Boxster!!!
And by adding more applications (we just added a 996 Convertible version, as well) we've been able to increase production volume to drive prices down, and we're extending those savings to you!
Black carpet - $395.
Other carpet colors - $445.
Raise your shifters up where they belong, and create a more ergonomically pleasing driving position. This upgrade will blend seamlessly into your 986's interior - factory carpet is used, and the fit and finish surpasses OEM quality.
Several 996 Coupe and 996 Turbo owners have transformed their car with this unique and functional upgrade, with many of them crediting it as the single best modification they've done to their cars. So suffice to say, we're happy to have extended the compatibility of this kit for more cars, and we're confident you'll be happy with the benefits!

Here are some cool pics from the Console Riser Kit development.
As you can see, A LOT of time and detail went into the development - the prototype started with cutting and shaping cardboard pieces to fit the 986/996 interior, and it was built out from there. Countless individual pieces and features were shaped and fastened together to produce the Plexiglas/Lexan prototype pieces you see pictured below. From those, the negative molds were created for re-production of the cast plastic finished pieces that comprise the kit.
Each riser trim piece that extends the length of the center console is a single molded piece of plastic upholstered in OEM carpet, and the forward center stack is 4 pieces riveted together and upholstered with a single piece of OEM carpet, customized to either fit a storage bin, climate control unit, or a blank piece that can be drilled to mount gauges, switches, etc.
It's a shame all that detail needs to be covered up by the carpeting!
