Default Parts needed to replace chain guides and cam chains?

Before I take the car to the track I want to install the following:
- 2qt. deep sump.
- Some IMS bearing solution
- New chain guides early 2.5L
- New cam chains

Anything I have missed. Should I buy an uprated heat exchanger?

Does anyone know what parts and tools will I need to change these items?

I found a timing kit which has most the tools. The only one I don't think I can make myself is the cam lock tool. Does anyone make a cheaper version of it?

IMS - you have a double row -why change it unless you need a clutch & RMS?
Since you are on a budget the "Technosump" from Pedro may be a good benchmark. But research the correct position of the horizontal baffle.
Check the Pelican site for the diy on guides, tensioners & chains.
With the best 'wet' tires the 2.5l car will be amazingly fast compared to any other normal competitors in Norway.
Take a screen shot of the cam tool you can't make to a few buddies. They will be able to make one.It does not need to be very strong. Check on EBay Germany for Porsche tools ?
Check out the Section on 986 Forum called "What we Learned on the Track" for other (better?) ideas.
I hope this helps you.

Thank you for these suggestions. Very nice ones and to the point. I have decided to simply pull the gearbox and flywheel to check the bearing. If it isn't sloppy I will just remove the seal and leave it. Do you consider this too overkill?

I'm sure I can make the cam lock tool myself as well. I can mock up some pieces and tig weld on a bracket for the bolt.

I have contacted all the sump retailers but the shipping is crazy. None of them are willing to ship via USPS. Do you know anyone else who sell these?

In case someone else is doing this job.
These are the parts needed to change the pads as far as I have found. These are for my 1997 2.5L Boxster.

For the deep sump -ave you tried FVD on EBay Germany ?
I could help you more if you could convince your Countrymen to release the next series of "Occupied" sooner :-).

Thanks. I finally bought it from the UK. Shipping was way cheaper.
