Exclamation 450hp Boxster S conversion

if I had $26k to blow on my Boxster S, I'd do this:

Anyone ever heard of this or know anyone that has done it?

Didn't Excellence magazine do an article on this car? I think it got mixed reviews....

They did an article on a Boxster S with I think it was called an Aero Turbocharger. Looks like there were some bugs that had to get worked out. It appeared that the power output was not what was expected when they strapped it onto the dyno.

yeah i read that article on that red Boxster TURBO.. which they promised to have "GT2 performance". It wasn't, but it was definitely a monster.

Actually that one is about $14k if I remember correctly, so it may be a good alternative instead of this $26k one.

hey KJM3SMG

how are you liking that SMG M3?

i love the transmission on that car, wondering how it compares to other SMGs, ie. ferrari F1, porsche tip? audi tip? response times? does the computer blip throttle on downshift ? (Love that sound!)

thanks!

supposedly it's the fastest out there, at 0.08 seconds vs. Ferrari's 360 F1's 0.15... or Aston Martin's 0.25.. humans shift at around .8 I think. Porsche's tip is nice and smooth but of course is not really comparable, since it doesn't have a clutch... Audi's has 2 clutches but is not as quick. The SMG system is actually the road car version from the F1 BMW Williams racing team... for more info, just check out the links of technical details on my M3 site.

The computer does blip throttle on downshift and it's a pretty cool sound.. sometimes I just shift up and click down just to hear it, haha.

The launch control is pretty cool too.
