Default 2003 boxster S iPhone audio

Hello, I have read a bit on trying to get your iPhone to play with the stock head unit. Most people just go with the fm transmitter but if I get a radar detector I would be stuck choosing between the two.

I was wondering what you guys have done to hardwire for your phones or music device.

I have heard of a place in the uk that has a plug that attaches to the cd changer to make the head unit think your iPhone is #5 cd

Yes, that's what I did, works great. Just get a RCA to headphone wire about 6' long and run it from, cd changer into car. Best way is to remove your battery, there is a rubber grommet you can cut through and pop the wire into the foot well. Then just find a good routing to front of consol.

Make sure you have radio code if you remove the battery.

That is only if you have the cd changer in the front trunk right?

I have the cd changer in the console.

I bought the following from Discount Car Stereo and it allowed me to remove my current stereo, and then simply plug into the back of the stereo. I use an iPod Nano to play and select music and have run the cable so that I didn't have to cut anything. Works great. Discount has a helpful website and they ship to Canada!

The 2003 cars use the MOST system, the link is fibreoptic so there are nowhere to plug in any RCA plugs etc. When I upgraded my headunit, I had to remove the OEM amp and replace it with an Alpine unit. The older CDR220 are much better in that you can retain the amp.

Here's my installation, Pioneer 940BT:
