Hello, My name is kelsey, I just bought my first Porsche Boxtser. it is a 1999. I would Like to keep my oil pressure gauge on instead of the clock? does anyone know how to do that? and I have an Airbag light on is there an easy way to get that off? It didnt have an Owners Manuel in the car when i bought it!!

There isn't an oil pressure gauge on the 986/7 Boxster.... Maybe you are confusing it with the oil level gauge..
The airbag light can be deleted by a Durametic / PIWIS official scanner.

Kelsey are you handy? If so you may want to consider the Bentley book which includes the information in the manual as well as vital repair information and photos. If the airbag light is on you might want to make sure the system is working before simply cancelling the light. I had a friend locally who had that issue and the bag was missing. I didn't have the heart to tell him the body showed repairs on three corners and that his bag was likely deployed not stolen.

airbag light is probably a bad seatbelt sensor if you want to fix it.

If you want an oil pressure gauge, consider checking into a 996 cluster swap:

Enjoy your car.

Default airbag light

I bought a 2000 and found great value in the durametric diagnostic tool. Quickly reset trouble lights and check problems. Pricey upfront but paid for itself quickly Best resource is this board, lots of great help from folks

According to Wayne Dempsey's 101 Projects for Your Porsche Boxster (available as e-book on Google Books) 1997-2000 Boxsters need 2000-2001 C2 cluster. C4 won't work.

996-641-105-02 (manual)
996-641-106-02 (tip)
if you want a black cluster, part # ends in 70C.

2001-2004 Boxsters can use any non-Turbo cluster from 2002-2004.

And buy Wayne's book. I keep it on my phone just in case.
