FS: 986 Boxster Grand Am race car; new drive train, ready to rock
For sale is our previous 986 Boxster race car which was previously raced in the Grand Am Continental Challenge. The car received a brand new 2006 2.7l motor (grand am spec), as well as a brand new 6speed transmission and Guards LSD. The clutch and flywheel were replaced at the same time.
The car was then run for about 2 hours total at the Grand Am homestead testing where it was P1 to p4 in the practice sessions. It has since been driven only at one private track day, less than an hour of run time.
The car has significant safety items such as double driver window net systems, a center window net, electronic fire bottle system, emergency power shutoff inside and outside the car, a new seat and new belts.
The cage is really well made, and is 1.76" meeting the rigorous Grand Am standards.
The car has a fuel cell with dual fuel pumps and it is wired for coolsuit etc.
So in sum, its a 986 Boxster, 2.7l, 6speed, new engine, new trans, new LSD, new axles, new clutch, new flywheel. Great safety precautions
barely used pads and rotors.
The car has a full , new AIM dash/data system and SmaryCamera.
Mechanically, the car, with a new drive train, would be a 9.5
Cosmetically, its pretty darn good but I would probably only call it an 8.
This is a great machine for someone looking for a dedicated track / DE or race car. Its supersafe, easy to drive, and has a brand new drivetrain.
In PCA with very few changes, you could compete directly in the F class
The car is easy to maintain and spare parts can be bought at your local dealership. Its a very fast car as shown by our strong results at Grand Am daytona testing.
The car cost $120k to build.
We're asking $45,000 but willing to entertain all reasonable fair offers.
PM if you'd like my cell phone to discuss.
