Nice! I have actually been eyeballing 986s (not to replace my 951) and it's good to see so many former 944 owners approve.

I checked out a 97 986 earlier this week and was refused a test drive. I had to chuckle that the seller thought I wanted to joyride a car with 1/2 the HP my 951 has.... Still have not driven one yet!

Wait till you drive one. Specially if it's the newer 987. It will make you smile everytime you go in it. I have the sport exhaust and when I turn that switch on that growl sound is awsome.

good choice. my dad recently bought a nice 986 and after using his for a weekend i'm considering parting with my 951 for a boxster in the future as well.

If you're thinking about it, do it. I had a 944S2 years ago.... I loved the handling, balance and driver involvement of that car.... however I just picked up an '03 Boxster a couple weeks ago and I'm in lust.... it even sounds like a Porsche.

Those are the bumpers. They used to be black rubber/polyurathene, but on 987s they are painted body color.

I also just purchased a Boxster S but kept my other 944 Turbo's. I just can't part with them yet or maybe ever???? So I have now moved to the left side. I am right handed and having to train my left hand to put in and turn the key "Weird"!!!!! A couple of the options mine came with sport seats, and sport exhaust. Two of the hardest options to find. Glad to see other 944 people who have Boxster's. There were a bunch of Boxster's at Parade and I made the big mistake of doing the drive and compare in the 2 Boxster Spyders that the Michelin tire guys had for us to do a short autocross. WOW are those cars nice and nimble. I will be getting one of those in the future. Anyone else go to Parade? This is the car I had there.
Also got to meet Peter Porsche.

More pics of the 987s and 951s. Took both cars today to the 3rd annual Golden Gate Region picnic and People's choice wash and shine. I was lucky enough to get 2nd place. 1st place went to a 993 tt S previously owned by Jerry Seinfeld. Beatiful car and flawless.
