Boxster 18" Wheel Offsets???
I just bought a 2000 Boxster (2.7) with 17" inch wheels (205/50+245/45), and they look too small and skinny. I have had several 911's (still have my 993 that I wil never (???) sell), and I have several sets of 18" wheels and tires (18"x8"ET50 and 18"x10"XET65 with 225/40 and 285/30). What are the correct ET (offset) for the rears on the 986? Would my rear wheels work with 20mm to 25mm spacers? And if so, what brand or type of spacers should I use. I see that FVD has 23mm spacers with longer bolts for the Boxster, anyone with experience on this out there?

18mm spacer & corresponding longer bolts will give you a 47mm offset on the rear 18x10 ET65 wheels. 47 is the offset Porsche chose for the 18x10" Turbo Twist II wheels w/265 tires that were optional for our cars. A 23mm spacer should work fine with a 265 tire, but it might put a 285 tire pretty close to the fender lip.
I used FVD's 18mm spacer & bolts.
Hope that helps.
