Pictures of my first Boxster!
I just picked up this car in Louisville a couple days ago. As you can see from the picture of under the front bonnet, the car was absolutely filthy. There was a layer of dirt in every seam. Needless to say I was drooling over the prospect of cleaning it when I was looking at the car.
After dedicating the majority of my weekend, the car has cleaned up very nice. Always buy a car on a Friday : )
The car is a 99, manufactured 08/99 and has 52,900 miles. Doesn't have a ton of options, heated seats, rear storage, hardtop. It is in really nice shape and runs strong. There are a few smaller issues you will see me posting about, but for the most part it seems like a very nice vehicle. I am having a blast driving it. A different world from my 931.

From the dirt you are showing in the front trunk, the car must have been filthy. Great job cleaning and polishing it looks great! I'm sure you will have tons of fun driving on those mountain roads too!

R2R - There are some amazing roads to drive on. Top down, flying around the twisties....such a blast
judd - I just moved to Cleveland, TN from Madison, WI. Sold my A4 before I left, figured I would pick something up when I got down here
jetpilot - what kind of upgrades have you done? what are your favorites? how much?

Road noise? What type of tires are you running? I don't really notice too much road noise with PS2's. Now, if your talking about wind noise with the top down, that's something else. I either turn up the radio or enjoy the exhaust note. I'll live with the slight discomfort of noise, the car is too much fun to pass up, and we all have to agree with that!! The hard top would be nice too. Badger, you will have to locate a hoist to make storage and removal easy.

A quickie "upgrade" that will make your car sound better is to "de-snorkle" it. If you search ppbb.com you will find the DIY.
The snorkle is an air baffle connected to your air intake that does nothing really but deaden sound. I de-snorkled a week ago and the sound is great!

Nice car. I love the wheels.
That is the DIY I was thinking of. I will bet if you email pedro and pedros garage dot com he will have pix for you.
When I hit 4K rpm in 3rd gear the noise is AlMOST as good as my friend's '95 993 with a drilled air box (before he did the cat bypass of course).
