it's a pain. if you're a mechanic, it should take an hour to an hour and a half. if you're a weekend DIY type, plan on 3-4hrs. if you're a girl, plan on a solid day. :-)
if you do this yourself, invest in one of those hose clamp tools with a cable attached to it. it will hold the spring clamps open for you to slide them on and off. i also recommend replacing the spring clamps with regular worm drive hose clamps.

It's about an $800 job at the dealer. They charge about $275 for the tank itself. I had to take the bullet because I couldn't be without a car and didn't have the time to do it myself. (I did get a Cayman loaner for 4 days though!)

It's one of those special "porsche" moments when you pay $250 for a plastic milk jug. I'm slow and old but I do have a lift and it took me 2+ hours to do mine. I think there's a howto on Wikipedia

I am a mechanic, its my friends car but he took it to the dealer and they quoted him $1000. I told him we could probably do it but I was unsure of the time involved. thanks
