Default Looking at a 2000 Boxster S

I'm looking at a low mileage Boxster S. Other than the obvious things, what should I look for. Did the 2000's still have the RMS issues? Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks,
Eric

Yes, it's a possibility.

Nothing any different than every other Boxster. They're fantastic cars, as I'm sure you know. The one thing I like about the '00 S is that the digital speedo and tach are in the same gauge but that's a matter of personal preference.

Other "cool" things to look for are:
* Traction control (PSM wasn't available in '00)
* Litronic headlights
* M030 suspension
* Heated seats

And as always, look at the maintenance records and make sure you get a PPI done by a shop that is familiar with not only Porsches, but specifically the newer water-cooled ones (aka the Boxster).

Good luck!

Eric, I have a 00 S and it is a great vehicle. It has heated seats, nav, auto wipers, litronics, etc.... I did pay up but I don't regret it. You won't either. Get one loaded and do the PPI and enjoy

Well I bought the car. It's been an amazing couple of weeks with it. I got the 2000 986S with 18" wheels, the Litronics kit, Traffic Pro navigation, iPod interface, Having driven a 914, a 911sc, and a 951 before, the Boxster S is by far one of the most refined cars I have owned.

The only 'mod' I have done thus far is a set of clear side markers. I'm thinking about a slightly stiffer suspension, and having the center console painted red, to match the body color

Here are a couple of pictures:

Sweet little car you got there! Looks like the PO already swapped out the rear yellow tail lights for you. Congratulations and enjoy!

nice ride! i love my boxster...it's been a great 6 yrs and running...

get the ROW (rest of world) 030 sports suspension. it makes a big difference in the handling without being too stiff.
