Are your 18" twists hollow?

Hi guys,

I know the 18" twists for 993s and 996s were made in both solid spoke and the lighter hollow spoke version. Just wondering if there is such a thing as a hollow spoke 18" twists for the boxster (18x9"). Anyone? TIA.

Nevermind. I just did a search and found the answer, which is yes, they do come in the hollow version. Thanks for the bandwidth.

Really? Hollow Boxster-offset twists? Got a part number? 'Cause I have three sets of Boxster twists and they have different part numbers although they have the same offset, design, and diameter.

No, sorry. I just did a search and came up with various threads with references to hollow twists in the 7.5/9 width. I think I searched for "hollow twists" in the Boxster forum.

You should be able to tell if your wheels are hollow by looking at the spokes on the inside of the wheel. If they have grooves and look hollowed, that's what they are. If they're solid, they're not.

I'm looking to buy a pair of 18x9 hollow twists if you have them for sale...

I believe the back side of the hollow spoke / smooth or flat while the solid spoke hase a concave channel in the back. The hollow spoke is a tube in section while the solid spoke is "U" in section.

That is correct, smooth like a "tube" is hollow (with a slight seam), while deep grooved channels indicate solid (and heavy).

Sorry. Not only was my description poor but it seems as though I got it backwards too. Aron and Bull are correct.

The other easy way to tell hollow wheels is that the tire valves are always metal on a hollow wheel wheel. (To seal between the the two parts).

Do these hollow twists suffer from the same distortion as the 911-offset ones?
