boxsters a girl car?

Being new to the Porsche world, this is an interesting topic.
I thought this kind of in-fighting only happened on domestic-car forums with a much higher percentage of teenage members, and that as a group, Porsche owners might be above this kind of crap, but now I see that it's really no different here. No matter the brand, there are true enthusiasts, and then there are those who will put you down because you don't drive the exact model THEY drive.
Ok, I'm new, so I'll shut up. Continue with the pointless bickering and name-calling...

I mostly see soccer moms running around in Ford Excursions with the Powerstroke diesels... now there is a real girls car for you. That is not meant to be taken seriously.
I happen to like Boxsters, especialy when driven by a fine lady. That would go for any car out there though.
IMO, the ultimate girls car is a VW Cabriolet. But to each their own I suppose

After the severe beating my self-esteem took (ITS JUST a CAR, not an extension of my ...) at the hands of the 964 group photoshop experts in the wing envy thread (I saw the humour; the photo and accompanying text put a big smile on my face) I figured I'd try and persuade this conversation to cover other models. The fact I could make such a convincing and logical argument in only 1 sentence convinced me I had to hit the add reply button.
I'd love to own a new Boxster/BoxsterS or a 964Cab. They're both awesome cars that give you permagrin everytime you mash the gas pedal to the floor or drive around a long sweeping corner twice as fast as the sign says you should(usual disclaimers apply; don't do it around other cars, with other people in the car, only on the track yadda, yadda, yadda.) It just so happens when I bought my Porsche (1993) they didn't make a Boxster and at the time I couldn't afford a 964cab. The sheer superiority the RSA exhibits over other Porsches of similar and older vintages in any measurable (and some not) categories also convinced me.

Kim, this is one of my favorite "roads" - Willow Springs, the fastest road in the West:
I've never really understood this whole "chick car" thing - reminds me of the grade school kids I've been around who think they'll get cooties from the girls . . .

If anyone here hasn't already, I highly suggest readingA Survey of Porsche Owners. It is a VERY funny (and true) look at all of us.

I am embarrased after reading all these juvenile posts about this model or that model Porsche being somehow inferior to another Porsche model. I cannot improve on the common sense previously stated by those who correctly pointed out that we are all Porsche Owners and are nitpicking at one anothe in a semi exclusive group. With all the "914's aren't really a Porsche" and the "my 944/951 is way better than everything else" and of course the "my 993 is better then your 996" statements helps me to understand exactly what happened to the flash. We have become like so many rice racer/ford generostang/chevy crapette owners with thier juvenile antics and lack of emotional maturity or stability. I hang my head in shame after reading most of this thread.
Have we already forgotten how we felt the very first time we were bit by the Porsche bug? How elated we were the first time we turned the key in our own Porsche ignition to hear the symphony manifested by the engine? Does it really matter which end of the car that distinctive Porsche sound came from? If I had the means I would definately purchace a new Boxster. I would also love to have a 74 914 and a 1973 or 1984 911 targa. I doubt I will ever be able to add these to my collection but I can wish for them. As far a a true Porsche. I guess that one takes care of itself. Dr. Porsche and his family can lay singluar claim to that right.
