Dealer Says Speedo reads high by design
I noticed my speedometer is reading 10% higher than my actual speed. This inaccuracy carrys through to my odometer. I took it into the dealer to have it calibrated, and they gave me my car back with the following explanation:
"All Greman cars are built with speedometers that read 3-4 MPH high. This is mandated by the German equivalent of our Dept of Trans. Live with it because we cannot change it."
That seems unbelievable to me. Is this true or do I need a better dealer?
