2002 vs 2003
with the current lease incentives and discount available the 2002 seems attractive right now, apart from the glass rear window do drivers here think the 2003 will have sufficient changes to wait and pay probably a lot more?

My opinion is two sided. The current Boxster lease rates have NEVER been this low. $499!!!! That is a super incentive. Now if you are buying, wait for the 03 model. It is WAY more than just a glass rear window. More power, handeling, etc..Now the 03 model Bose radio is so far superior than any other car stereo (factory installed) that it is just silly.
So, if leasing..go for the 02
If buying, go for the 03

Sawmill..
The 2003 prices have not been released yet. The 03 Boxsters should start showing up in dealerships in Sept. sometime.
Good Luck.

Some people have early price sheets on the 03's which have shown no increases on most things, but I don't know how "official" those are. Even getting the glass rear window, 10hp more and a few other goodies "thrown in" on the 2003 makes it worth more in my opinion.
I never order from Porsche sales people because they won't give me the car at Invoice so I have to go through other routes.

I'm waiting for the '03 S (lease). The salesman has been pushing a Silver/black/black '02 S at me every time I go by, but the glass window, glovebox (a huge plus in my book), and factory in-dash CD player tilt my favor for the '03.

I don't really like the styling changes in 2003 (particularly the body color slats on front bumper and side intakes) - but will reserve judgment until I see one in person. It looks like Porsche has made these changes to further distinguish from the 996 - not sure whether they actually look any better.
Glass rear window and glove box are nice features, but if good deals were to be had on 2002, that's where I'd go.

Questionable? It's a matter of taste.

With the increased horsepower and glass rear window on the '03s, I highly doubt that anyone in their right mind would pay more for an '02 than an '03 based on a few minor cosmetic tweaks.

I've seen the 03's at the factory in person last month and I thought they looked fine, no problems with the changes at all, in fact I liked the look of the S even better, although I still favor my own GT3 Boxster look above the standard factory fare...

Where did you see the lease for $399 and what were the specific particulars? </strong><hr></blockquote>
Suncoast Porsche has some great Boxster lease deals going.
Here are the particulars.
$399/month - 48 months, on 5 Speed, Sport Package Boxsters with MSRP $48,240 and below, 10K Miles/year with $3,988 out of pocket.
They have a similar deal on Boxster S models:
$499 per mo Lease for 48 mo with $3,369 out of
pocket on a $56,400 MSRP Boxster S
Give Bill Hodges a call. I think the deals run thru the end of the month.
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Suncoast. I just happened to notice these offers when checking out their website.
