What's the best tire for 18" Boxster S Wheels?
Buying 18" OEM Turbo Wheels and need to know what non-rain rubber to match...Yokohama AVS, Bridgestone SO3, Pirelli, Continental...what's works the best?
I am not racing, just day to day semi-agressive driving, about 15,000 miles a year. Thanks Steve |
-Yokohama AVS or Bridgestone SO3:
would make the top of my list. -P Zeros: I will never buy again....EVER - Continental I have never used, so cannot comment. |

Sorry - clicked on wrong icon a couple of times there. I wanted to ask you why you disliked the Pirelli's? By the way, I have Continental Contact Sports that seem fine (only ones I've tried) on both street and track, but I understand they're being phased out for Contact Sport 2's.

Sorry for jumping in from the 911 world, but PZero´s have been repeatedly dumped in the wheels/tyres forums for construction problems--
I´ve heard new assimetrical continentals are good! Just got some Dunlops SP Sport 9000... feel great so far! |
I'm using P-Zero's on my 996 Cab and have for over three years with NO problems. Daily driver, some aggressive driving, no track. No problems.
On the Dunlop, in the US it is known among tire experts as a 'reduced cost' tire. It is often offered in place of many other tires when high end customers enter the store, simply because the tire shop makes more per tire than on Michelin/Pirelli/others. This is as stated from someone I know very well in the tire distribution business. Does not necessarily mean it's a bad tire. |
