Q....where did you get the "Speedster" emblem?
I think it really adds an authentic touch to your ride... Thanks for the detailed info. on the Eibachs. I'm actually not sure if H&Rs are cold wound as well. Although, I know that I don't have ROW suspension. I just have the regular Sport USA Suspension Spec.

Q....have you had any problems bringing your car back to spec, with respect to alignment? I hear that with drops like that, alignment is a real bear!
I've gone ahead and purchased the H&R springs. From the spec, it showed an avg. drop of 1.3". That with the addition of 19" wheels (which I also just purchased), I hope will create the look and feel I'm looking for.
I'll post pics when it's all done!

I am running 1.*something* neg camber on the front
and *from memory* 0.8 on the rear.
I have been paying close attention to the wear of the tyres, and have been pleasantly surprised. they are quite even across the width.
(used tyre gauge)
I was prepared to swap them side to side every 5000km
They are so good, I elected to wait until 10 000km
What was unexpected, was the rear tyres have worn twice as fast as the front.
I attribute this to my 993 inspired slow-in, fast-out technique
19's !!!
AWESOME
I can't wait for the pics

Jimmy sounds like a sweet setup, can't wait to see your setup. I hope to have my wheels within the next few weeks.
Q, yeah I always try to push my car sideways as well. ps. Thanks for the numbers on your drop. I think I will save some money and just get the springs and shocks.
Blistens seem to be a good choice, have any other suggestions?

What size tyres on the F & R ?
Incase you couldn't wait until Monday,
I had your car lowered using a set of ADOBE PS 6 springs <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Q....Thanks for the "springs"...
The wheels are actually Turbo Replicas in 19X8.5 front w/225-35-19 and 19X10 w/265-30-19 rear. They are made by Millie Miglia and they're called Cup3 Wheels. The tires are Nitto NT555. You can find them on Tirerack.com (not the tires, though). I happen to pick these up from a good friend of mine who owns F1 Motoring not too far from my home.
His site is : <a href="http://www.f1motoring.com" target="_blank">www.f1motoring.com</a>
His name is Frank Darquea. Just tell him, Jimmy D. sent you. I know you're in Australia, but oh well!
BTW, that photo shop is pretty sick...I can't wait til Monday now.....
Thanks, Q..

thanks for the link.
I think F1 has the best wheel stock list I have ever seen <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
Buying from the US is often necessary for us out here in the colonies.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
glad you enjoyed the pic

Q....after the installation of your Eibachs, did you notice any sounds coming from the front suspension when on irregular roads? I'm curious. I just recently experienced, what seems to be, either something loose or something tapping something else. I'm wondering if you encountered any such issues after your install.
Thanks for the help!

Jimmy,
The only noise I have from the front end
is when the little mud flaps touch the ground.
A friend of mind did have a noise problem.
As he went over bumps, the coils were binding.
[touching the next coil as they compressed]
The suspension shop wrapped them with plastic tape.
They wrapped my coil with a clear plastic tube
<img src="http://www.qplanet.org/q/post/new_coil.JPG" alt=" - " />
I also fitted a strut brace to keep everything rigid and in place.
Given the weight of 19's is probably quiet high, it may be a good idea...

Q....doesn't the Boxster already have a front strut brace? If not, what brand of strut brace did you wind up installing?
You know...I was looking at the coils of the springs while on the vehicle, and noticed that your theory could be true. It is very possible that the the individual coils could bind while under pressure, which could lead to the tapping noise I hear when on irregular road conditions. I'll try and have the guys who installed my springs, install those plastic coverings.
Did that do it for your friend? (the one who also had noise issues)
Again...thanks for the input, Q! Greatly appreciated!
<img src="http://www2.freepichosting.com/Images/44481/12.jpg" alt=" - " />
By the way....I cleared out the signals on the litronics. No more amber signals, just clear!
<img src="http://www2.freepichosting.com/Images/44481/9.jpg" alt=" - " />
Finally...outdoor pics...The weather has been pretty lousy here in the Northeast (USA).

Wow pics look awesome Jimmy.
Did you just get the H&R sport springs? I thought you had mention they were a 1.3" drop but on the H&R website they list them as a 1" drop.
How is the ride quality?
ps. Love the car.
Q and JimmyD, have you guys had any rubbing issues?

TNH986,
Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, I just put the H&R springs last week. When I was looking at springs, I went on Tirerack.com for info. According to there website, the H&Rs had an average drop of 1.3" on an '02 Boxster. I did notice however that on H&Rs site, they claim only 1". In any event, I think it fell in between 1" and 1.3" overall. But, I'm very pleased with the results. Ride quality is great. It drives very close to stock, aside from maybe the occassional pothole, which is only magnified b/c of the suspension.
Thankfully, I have not experienced any rubbing of any kind. I've even put it to the test by driving numerous (woop-dee-doos) wavy roads in my area, NOTHING. All in all, I think my only complaint is the slight noise issue that I mentioned to Q two posts back. From what he mentioned, it just might be the coils binding.
Good luck with your endeavor. I think that unless you're planning on autocrossing your car, springs are probably the best bet, both financially and asthetically.
