I waved at a 996 cab yesterday afternoon. The guy was leaning over trying to look as cool as possible. He looked at me as if he should have recognized me, but of course did not wave back for that would have looked un-cool, and we were of course in the center of coolnessville (La Jolla).

So, it's not just Boxster owners that don't wave.

BTW, Silverbullet951, I'm happy for you that you know about the wave @ 20. But unlike the law, ignorance can be a valid excuse, whether you believe it or not. Growin' up a flash of the lights meant the Johnny Law was up the road a bit and sticking close to the speed limit would be advisable (people don't do that anymore either). And a friendly wave was just that, a friendly wave. Besides, people around here are so concerned with their image that I don't think even the most exclusive auto (i.e. Ferrari) owners would acknowledge each other. So, believe it or not, I for one didn't know about it, and if I hadn't learned it here, I probably would have learn it from the club. So I would presume that most true enthusiasts will learn about the wave/flash soon enough. Those that don't, probably aren't true enthusiasts.

All P-cars are real Porsches, like it or not. some are not that good, the 914, 924 and 944. Maybe thats why you can buy a 944 for 3K. If I didn't but my 01 Boxster I could have 15 944s, as you put it that you have 12 Porsches as you were beating a P-owner with a nice Porsche on a latter quote.

LOL. Go drive a Boxster and then tell me how much better it drives then a 944.

No hard feelings

My father and I and many people I know have driven the boxster, and then have driven my car. The boxster is a turtle compared to my car. I'm going to be putting some nice weltmiesters to help the handling so the boxster is done in my book. It's the porsche owners like YOU that people hate. People with no sense of appreciation of what these cars really are. You think because you have a new one, you are better than everyone else. I can easily get a boxster, but I won't and I never will because I don't want to be associated with people like YOU. And to tell you the truth, I think it's ugly and way too slow.

944WFO...Thanks for the compliment! It really is a beautiful car. I got very lucky (and an empty wallet) when I found her.

Funny thing about the Boxster though...at first I really didn't like the looks. But now it's REALLY starting to grow on me! God help me if I actually drive one. My wife would kill me if she came home and there were TWO Porsches in the drive.

You really shouldn't take this car stuff so deep.

Anyhow I'm not a fan of turbo lag. thats why I used to go with BMW. Lots of turbo lag is present in the 944 turbo (the only real fast 944) Besides speed can be had by any car ever made including Civics with some mods, balance can't. That is why I enjoy the 986 over the 944.

PS; there are many different Boxsters 2.5, 2.7, 3.2s and Ruf has the 3400 and 3600. Not all Boxster are slow at all, some are real fast.

:-)
