Well if any doesn't like the front end of the 987 or the 997 both are interchangeable. You can use all factory parts and only require front fenders, bumpe, headlights and hardware. Imagine the 997 GT3 Aerokit front end on a 987 ... Hmmmmmm Yummy!

I love the new 997.

Let me remind you..

Not surprising since Hitler commissioned Herr Porsche to create an affordable car for the German people to drive on the Autobahn. Hence came the Volkswagen. It is only natural that it's evolution is still tied in with Porsche.

People like the round headlights better. That's why they are back. I always thought the goofy ones were a cost cutting thing to make an integrated unit and didn't care much for them. Either way like someone said you can't see them from inside the car!!

So the GT1 headlight design was a cost cutting decision? I don't think so. IMO its a very modern look, especially the clears/litronics. The problem was the fact that after Porsche released its all new design (Boxster) in '97, the 996 came out with same headlights the following year; that was the mistake. After 996 owners complained, Porsche changed the 996 headlight design in 2002 and IMO aren't a clean/flowing design.

I would expect Porsche to make each appearence of MY/Badge number diff.

I personnaly like the 996/986 front ends with the lights and all, but I also like the newer 987/997 front appearence also. To me, this is what makes each one special

I will agree the new front end reminds me of the 993 style, but good design never goes away either.

I am one who does not get mental on any one model year, I personally like all the model years, guess you would say I am a fence straddler
