Default What did you do to your 986 today?

In many other forums I visit, there is a running "What did you do to your car/ truck today" thread. I did a search, and could not find one, but it is a fun thread to share if you want what you have done to your car in the past 48 hours. If there is another thread already accomplishing this, I am happy to delete this one.

Ill go first. Bought this car on Saturday for a fun daily driver this summer for me, and a first car for our 16 year old after its sorted out. 99 2.5 with the 5 speed and 64K miles.
future plans are the full Brey Krause treatment of a roll bar extension, deep sump oil pan, and fire extinguisher mount. also some spacers, trying to determine size.

Last night we purchased and installed a hard top.

Last night I was putting together the last items from my clutch, IMS, RMS, AOS, and other stuff project. I was almost done when I noticed a funny angle on my rear lower rearward control arm. After looking around for other damage, I think I've decided it is from the tow truck strapping it down. It'll be another week before I get to drive it.

Looks great. I have always loved the look of the hardtop on that era of Boxster. We bought a hardtop with ours when we ordered our '99.

Default In the last week, I completed a maintenance and a repair item...

I removed the flat bottom to replace the fuel filter. I have an oil pit, but the pit length is too short to access the filter. Plus, there is limited clearance between the coolant lines for the actual filter removal. So, I had a dealer R & R the filter with my supplied parts.

The passenger side seat belt receptacle is broken, where the belt clip won't lock into the receptacle. I ordered the replacement part and Tuesday I replaced it. The only difficulty I had was getting the electrical connector to the receptacle on and off. That alone took an hour. Got it all installed and cleaned under the seat too.

2000 Boxster S.

After 5 1/2 months in hibernation I finally got my 03 S out yesterday. Only a slight puff of blue and some chain clatter that soon disappeared and she idled beautifully. It was the first warm, calm spring day here in the Great White North so I took her out for a good 2 hour run. Looking forward to another drive today. Doing the right winter prep in the fall sure makes it easy to get her going in the spring.

well I am redoing my seats. My upholster guy is doing a great job. Some shots he sent me. Seats will be two tone. Savannah beige in middle of seat with diamond pattern and black on exterior. tan double stitching. Got the emblem on the headrest also. I couldn't add the "Stuttgart" lettering as it was too small and didnt look good as it blended with the black. but overall Im happy with the results.

Great thread love the silver 99 and other poster’s two tone seats.

Today I took my 986 S to autocross school and drove it hard. In it’s current state when pushed to the limit it will always understeer. I’m going to have to address this soon. I was in a group with a few 987s, 997s, 991s, 718s and one GT4. Fun day. I got a photo of most of my group. If you see a hiding sliver of speed yellow that’s my lowly 986. It was definitely the cheapest Porsche on the property.
