can 19 inch rims fit on a 2001 boxster

I had bought a 1998 Boxster that had some awful 19 inch aftermarket wheels on it (I removed them). The general consensus is that the large wheel & added grip are or can be overwhelming for the chassis and/or suspension pick-up points.
I would suggest researching that a bit before committing.

Even if they fit they'll result in a harsher/noisier ride. My 2002 Boxster was like a magic carpet with 17" wheels/tires vs. my 996 Turbo with 18" wheels/tires. Yes, there were other differences between the Turbo and the Boxster (Turbo had stiffer suspension, the Boxster was more softly sprung) but the bigger wheels/shorter sidewall tires accounted for the bulk of it.

Will they fit, sure.
Is it a good idea, not really. Structurally the car was not designed for 19" wheels

YMMV
