This question would be better asked in the Boxter forum.. so I'm moving it over there. When you get a Cayenne feel free to come back.

I did a general internet search with “ boxster dipped beam”. Apparently the term “dipped” refers to your low beams. In almost all cases replacing the bulb took care of the issue. I would reverse whatever modifications you made and see if that fixes the issue.

... tx for quick reply ... any reason alert reported at all?? lights illuminate fine ... height of beam on target at ~25ft ... no 'flashing brights' from oncoming cars at anytime ... am tempted to swap bulbs- left/right ... but, hate 'fixing' anything that works, especially for potential false alarm ! ... any more help?? Tx
