Pretty pictures! I put a UDP on my 01 2.7. Just the plain, cheap one. It's married to a Tip, which only has a flexplate. Doesn't the increase in the performance come from the lower ratio pulley and not from the harmonic balancer? I would think more smoothness would be available by installing an alternator from a 5 speed engine--with the clutch pulley. Mine has the original with the solid pulley, I can't notice much engine vibration.
When I bought my relatively cheap UDP, it included a new, correctly sized serpentine belt. I would think that your high priced spread could include one, too. And maybe a new crank bolt, too. $415, WHEW! Spendy. |
