986 Boxster S pricing - too good to be true?

What were the indicators that it needed an IMS? What did you find when you replaced it? IMHO: A 19 year-old car with only 50k on it was absolutely not driven enough; replacing the IMS wasn't a bad move.

Haggerty has minimum influence on values over short term periods. It'll take 5 to 10 years at least before we see any movement. 986s are a bargain which is why I picked one up this year. I love driving it too which helps a ton. I don't really care about appreciation, but I love a performance bargain for my own enjoyment. My advice would be to buy one only if you really want and will enjoy it.

986/987 have been bludgeoned to death by the IMS/RMS hoopla that they've reached levels at which one could pick up a nice, clean example, drive it for 10 years and still come out ahead even if they go to zero from here -- which they most definitely will not for this very same reason. Couldn't care less if they have bottomed or have some more to fall before they do. I just know there is no Porsche out there that comes even close to the bang/$ that these cars offer. I just picked up a gorgeous 987.1 Boxster S and Spring couldn't come soon enough for me to drive it:
