New Boxster Owner
Hi,
I just purchased a 2001 Boxster S and I'm torn between upgrading the exhaust or the suspension. I'm planning on using the car as a daily driver and in autocross and HPDE.
Thoughts.
Thanks!
Brian

Very nice car. I love the light tan interior. Seems like most are black interior. Are you a hairdresser? I keep seeing that in other forums in reference to boxster owners. I assume that's just a stereotype?

Save your money for the moment. Spend on maintenance items. Get it 100%, and truly ready for DE's. Learn how to drive what you've got.
If you are itching to spend money, go ahead and put an exhaust. Will make it sound better, but not any faster.
Alignment can do amazing things-- after you've mastered driving skills.
Be the best you can be with what you've got.
Suspension upgrades can actually send you backwards, unless done by a reputable Porsche mechanic with experuence with track or autocross set ups.
My son out a "killer suspension" on his car. It was pure evil. Would spin frequently. I've been an instructor for DE's and racing schools for 39 years- and it took me an entire three day event to dial in the suspension. And the alignment still isn't right for his set up. If you don't have the skills first you will chase your tail trying to make it "right", yet you don't know what that should be.
Enjoy the car. My boxster wins my award as best all around Porsche

I just got a set of the new Koni Special Active shocks. They are amazing, absorbing all the little nooks and crannies on the road, but firm up tightly upon going into the corners. Dollar for dollar, would recommend them over Bilsteins any day.
Congrats on the car. I have the same exact colour combo and model year!
