oil in my coolant 2001 3.2 S m trans
Looking for help or at least maybe some good direction. I have oil in my coolant but no water in my oil. I have replaced the oil cooler and it made not difference. My car is a 20001 Boxster S with 6 speed with 57k on it I bought it used in 2012 and its still is in perfect condition till now. I have rebuilt a lot of cars but the last Porsche I did was a 72 914. I suspect it has a cracked head I understand the 2001 casting are paper thin and or that it could be a bad freeze plug. 1; So if anyone can tell me before I drop the motor is there anything else it could be that I should look for please do!. 2; can anyone recommend where I can get a rebuilt head and the best place to get the Gasket kit? This engine still runs strong! I want my ride back. Thank you

Inspect your spark plugs to see which cylinder/ head it is.

You can get used heads on Ebay, Or Woody. Or 20th street automotive in Phoenix. Both are really good guys. So is Quality Porsche Parts in Albuquerque (on Ebay.) You're going to pull the engine anyway, good time for RMS, & Ims bearing. And a quick inspection of the bores & bearings. And any major parts you replace with used should be inspected, maybe even rebuilt. Plan on a new engine mount, the trans mounts should be okay.
Byprodriver has good advice. I'd replace hoses on an as needed basis. The hoses around the coolant recovery tank can all be replaced with bulk hoses. You'll probably need an oil filler pipe, and maybe a dipstick pipe.
Pelican is a good parts source.

i was thinking of having both heads done but I was also thinking about bumping HP? Can I cam it and modified on a dump. I would love to find a turbo kit. Also will the stock brakes be enough? I will follow all your leads. Thank you for the input.

i spoke with Hoffman and the project starts on the 5th. I dropping the motor and pulling rads rads for flushing having both heads gone though and the lifters. I’ll check the bore on the cylinders. New hoses and water pump. Looking for a recommendation on the water pump.
