Default Under seat 1998 Boxster

took my drivers side seat out to check to see if alarm etc are all dry and in place. Lots of what appears to be splices with electrical tape etc. Elected to just leave em alone since car works fine ( no alarm or door opener but that may be the key). Did find one thing that I could use info on. There is an electric motor on the right side of the sear that is hooked up to a motor that is on the left side. They are joined by what looks like a speedo cable. Cable was not hooked up but what is it for?

Are you sure it's two motors and not a motor and a transmission for seat adjustment? I haven't opened up my Boxster's seats, but I repaired the seats on an old Volvo I had and there was a thin plastic-coated cable that ran between the motor and transmission.
