Default Best Buy for money Boxter between 2012-2014

I am in the market for a used Boxter. Low mileage; manual trans. My ballpark is in the 30’s but not to exceed $40,000!
I have done a lot of reading but does anyone have an opinion on the best year and model for this price range?

You might want to repost this in the 987-981 section. This section is really for 986's which ended in 2004. So you may not get a response here.

Best bang for buck in my opinion is 987.2 S (so roughly 09-12 model years). If you so desire you can get a tune on the engine to max out the HP. No IMS issues, updated engine, best handling - easily in your budget range.
