Default Can the airbag control module be removed? Building Track Car

Looking through the forums, it looks like the airbag control module is required by the DME to allow the car to run. Building out a dedicated track with cage/harnesses (1999 986 2.5). I've pulled all of the airbags already, but would like to remove a potential point of failure if possible. Is it possible to remove the module and jumper the appropriate wires? Any guidance on which ones needed to be powered? Or is this one more item that needs to be tucked up under the dash like the immobilizer.

Why don't you unplug the module and see what happens? If module missing sets a cel, live with the code or plug the module back in. If the car won't start or run, plug the module back in.

I'm not a wizard with the wiring diagrams, but from what I've been able to find on the internet, there is a connection between the module and the DME. No module = no start. What I am hoping for is that someone knows what wires to jump.

You might find this thread of some value:

My Porsche Boxster Bentley manual had wiring diagrams for some years of Boxster but I gave this away. You might get a Bentley manual. Mine came in real handy.

It's a good thread. Interesting. Pelican sells Bentley Manuals for about $100.
