Default Using 987S springs on 986S

I’m in the middle of replacing my shocks and I have a set of 2006 987 Cayman PASM springs on the shelf. Decided maybe it would be an interesting upgrade to put these on my 986S 2001. This is a car that’s mostly Street driven but will get occasional track use.

while I expected the springs to be perhaps 3/4 of an inch shorter because they are from a PASM shock I didn’t expect to see the significant difference that the following pictures will show. These are for the rear.

Spring height diff uncompressed is ~2.5” and while the 987 Spring is significantly stiffer I think I’m going to experience a pretty big ride height drop here. Probably not a good idea. Anyone else giving this a try?

No, it is not a fun task & I certainly wouldn't want to do it twice. Might be interesting though.
