Acquired deceased brother CGT
Hello. Recently my brother passed away and we will be looking to sell what appears a 2000 Carrera GT in the coming months. Were located in Arizona. What is the recommended way to sell such a car? Secondly, is there a trick to to open the door with the key or the remote? It appears the battery is either dead and neither method is working. Any assistance with identifying or starting the auto would be appreciated.

That is just a car modified to look like a Porsche CGT Gemballa, replica, kit car or the name you want to give it, still probable worth a few thousand dollars. Good luck

Smokeygt, stop being a bully. Obviously the OP does not know Porsche's no reason to be an ***. Put yourself in a situation you have no clue about.
Original poster, that's not a a Carrera GT. Check the vehicle title and it will state what model it really is.

Three Wheelin'
Looks like they started with a Boxster. Open the door with the key. Look for a fuse panel at lower left panel. Pull out red post and attach battery to it and the door latch. You can google this.

Unless there's info indicating otherwise, how about we give the OP the benefit of the doubt, assume that his brother passed away and show the OP some respect?
Moving this to the Boxster forum.

Man! you guys are harsh.
Sorry about your brother, I'd go crazy for a while if mine passed on.
About the car, the advice on getting it unlocked and getting the front trunk open should work. Where in Arizona? I think I'd take it to a dealer or an Indie shop and
have them look at it and see what they think. The Porsche dealer in Tucson has pretty nice guys and would give you an honest opinion. Prestige Import Auto is my preferred
indie shop here.
In Phoenix, the guys at 20 Street Auto are good guys It's a parts recycler, but they do sell some used cars. Whatever it is, it shows skill and pride--like all automotve stuff, it's value depends
on what someone is willing to pay for it.
Again, my condolences on your loss.

A793aa, to honor your late brother, I'll gladly pay your Rennlist Membership Fee, so you can list the car here for sale. But, you should keep it for a while and enjoy. Let me know if I can help.

Looks like the OP posted and then never came back. . .If he were in Tucson, I be inclined to help him get it going. I think it''s rather fascinating and wouldn't mind having a close look. Looks like an aftermarket conversion, but then so are Gemballas and the only thing that makes those worth anything is their uniqueness and rarity (and massive performance enhancements.)
It's way to radical for this desert cowboy, tho.

Burning Brakes
A unique vehicle. My guess is it will appeal to some but not all. But that is true of any car. My preferences in cars, colors, women, houses, etc might not be yours nor is there any reason they should be.
Because it is so different than the norm, I'm not sure at all how to value it. Wish I could help.
As to accessing the battery compartment, these on a stock 986 would be the approaches. No ideas what the mods to the body would have done to the doors, door locks, etc. My hope is they left the emergency pull under the front bumper intact.
May he RIP.

Thanks guys. Thank you for your replies and nice things said about my brother. No red post on the fuse panel to charge up battery. Finally managed to open the hood through the emergency wire pull found near the front the the vehicle. This led me to a battery registering zero volts and not chargeable. So I replaced the battery and the car started up. Yes, the registration to the car said Boxter and the Gembella in the back were give ways the car is a kit car. Had a suspicion. Once we get the estate settled through probate, we will be looking to sell the car through various methods. There's a unique crowd for these kit cars no doubt.
To answer Brian, am in metropolitan Phoenix. Car looks solid externally as well as the interior. Still assessing the motor. So for the time being, we will simply be insuring this runs well enough for a sale.
