Lightbulb New to porsche code p0430 catalyst

Hey all,
new here to porsche and forum, engine light just came on in 2001 boxster s. Says catalyst efficiency but i also noticed oil around my rims and rear wheelwells. Any ideas?

Get a code reader on it that can read the Porsche-specific codes. Also get the car on a lift so you can check where the oil leak originates. It can be quire hard because the oil blows back in the slip stream.

Catalyst efficiency could be a failing O2 sensor, not expensive, or it could be a failing cat, quite expensive.

clear the code, swap the post cat oxygen sensor to the alternate side oxygen sensor and see if the code follows the sensor from bank 1 to bank 2. If it does = bad sensor if not, bad cat
