Default 1999 Boxster wheel size question

Hi, this is my first post in the Boxster forum on Rennlist.
I have reccently purchased a 1999 Boxster, silver with black interior and blue soft top, full optionals, PCM, Litronic lights, etc. First registered to Porsche in Zuffenhausen and even with stamps in the service booklet from Werks 1.
Needless to say I'm very satisfied with it

Now, this car came with 7J ET55 17" front wheels and 8,5 ET55 rears.
As the wheels have been painted black by the previous owner, rather than have them repainted, I've been looking around and have found a set of silver ones, but the rears are 9J ET55 (I'm not sure but I think they could be 996 Carrera wheels)

So basically my question is: can i fit 9J ET55 on the rear without spacers/modifications?

Thanks in advance.

Try this. You pump in the dimensions of the current and those of the one you are considering and it gives you dimensions. Critical are clearing the brakes and the wheel well.
