Default Trunk Release button fell inside side panel - how to remove side panel???

Hi,

My friend went to press the trunk release button to open the trunk and the button just fell out of it's place.

I can't figure out how to open the panel and I can't find any videos online.

Does anyone know how to open the side panel so I can reattach the button.

Thanks

Figured it out.....

You remove the two caps on the inside of the sill with a flat tip.

Then use a 5mm alan wrench, long side goes in first...

You might need to move the carpet out of the way by using the alan key and then a flat tip screw driver to keep it out of the way....

Then long side in with the alan key, fish around a bit until it goes it.... It will go in perfeclty when you get it in....

Just turn enough to loosen it... you don't need to unscrew it.

Then with a flat tip lift up the corners of the sill from both ends and with a bit of force, GENTLY, pull the sill away from the door panel.

It's held in with some plastic pegs. If it get's stuck as you near the middle where the alan key screws are, you probably didn't loosen enough.

They from other side same thing, lift off the plastic and it should come right off..

DON"T **** THE PANEL RIGHT OFF!!!!

The wires are still connected.

once you reattach the button, just reverse the process.

You might need to detach the button from the wire harness to be able to handel it better and get it back into the hole.

Then reattach the harness once it's secure in the hole.

Place the sil back into place and press down so the plastic pegs go back in place.

Use the 5mm alan key again to screw tight. Put the plastic covers back on..

Done

Default Dirt in switches

I have had the switches not work because of dirt getting into them. Anyone have a recommended fix. Of course switch replacement is one, :-)
