275/35R18 RE-71Rs
It's time to swap out the RE-71Rs for a fresh set, and it would seem the 275/35R18 is back ordered again. One of the local tire shops called Bridgestone and was told they wouldn't be producing anymore until July.
Is there any place I can still get my hands on a set of 275s or will the 265/35R18 on a 18x9 wheel be a reasonable alternative?
My current setup is 255/35 front and 275/35 rear.

Damn, July? That's the same size combo I run. Really hope I don't pick up a nail...
FWIW, I've become accustomed to buying tires 4 months before I need them for this very reason. I'll be buying a new set for sure when they're back in stock!

I'm doubting there will be much difference with the 265 unless your car has serious horsepower.
(Oh, I forgot where I was. No such thing as a Porsche with serious horsepower, right?)

That extra 10mm makes a big difference in contact patch shape and maximum slip angle, though. 255 front and 265 rear will likely be very loose.

Went ahead and ordered the 265s for the rear. Worst case scenario, I sell them and get 275s when they're available.
Figure it's better than not being able to attend the next few months of events.
