Hankook R-S4 are available on Tirerack. Unfortunately, they're selling for RE-71R prices, ugh.

At the risk of being pedantic, they're listed on, but not yet available from, Tire Rack. Current estimated availability is apparently "mid to late March".

You're right, I spoke too soon; the first batch is expected to be delivered to Tire Rack in March; no word yet as to what sizes that will be.

And prices similar to ZII* which has been priced at a premium. Why can't the top tire ever be a cheap tire??

Talked to Tire Rack today and 245/40-15 Rival S is due on 04/07/17 and will cost $171.55. Combined with 225/45-15 on the front, these are good Autocross/Track sizes for an old 911. Hankook R-S4 will also be available in these sizes mid-March. Performance levels are not yet common knowledge.

Anyone have thoughts on RS-4 vs Rival S?

Don't think we know yet. From what I hear, the Rival S update (only the <265mm 3 rib sizes are being updated) is just a mild refresh - belt package or something - aimed to get a little better response and a little better effectiveness when you shove a wide tire on a narrow rim. AFAIK no compound change.

The RS4 has not been tested at all in the US to the best of my knowledge, as they're not in stock yet.

FYI, as absurd as it sounds, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is not legal for SCCA autocross in 2017 because it's only available in 3 rim sizes and doesn't meet minimum availability rules. This impact national and regional autocross.

Has anyone found a test/review on the R-S4?
