I would think that you would go with sport seat plus. I think that the sport seat plus fit me better, I also DD mine plus I'm over 60.

If you’re spending $10k on the wheels, I would think you’d also spend the money on the PCCB’s which could be a tight fit with 19’s.

Wait, those HREs are $10k?? You can get a set of custom Forgestars for about $1400 in whatever size/offset you want.

Do they also weigh 16 pounds?

The HREs are expensive, but they aren't $10k. And the Forgestars don't come in 19 x 10.5 for a monoblock

I had pretty much the same size wheels built for my 718 cs, except I went 5mm from stock on the offset. The HRE's are a bit lighter but I went with CCW'S as they cost a bit less and are fatigue rated monoblock track wheels. Looking at your option list, one change you should consider is select PASM sport versus just PASM as it's 20mm lower and a bit stiffer all around. It combines the PASM dampers with the sport springs & bars which prior to the 718 was not available on the boxster or cayman.

Thanks. I would have selected the Sport PASM, but it's not available on the configurator for base 718.

Maybe I'm taking crazy pills, but for the kind of money that build + wheels totals, you can get yourself a moderately optioned S and would be knocking on the door of a GTS. Me, I'd say screw AS, get the GTS, pop RE-71s on the OE wheels, and giggle may way through every run in SS. Most reviews say the 718GTS is the best all-around car Porsche makes right now, full stop.

IMHO, my $0.02 and all that jazz. Don't think you can really go wrong either way.

I just built a 718 base Boxster and a GTS Boxster on the build configuration tool. First the base can't be built with PASM + only PASM. Build price for the GTS is 17k higher. Maybe you can pick up a year old GTS that will put it closer. But that being said when I test drove a 981 GTS Boxster, I found that the GTS was faster than my 911, out handled it and had a better ride. What is nit to like but the money to get one.

JKimOB-Check out Signature SV 104's, These are very similar to HRE wheels, are custom made to your specs, including width and diameter, are monoblock forged. The weight is around 19 lbs for 18 ich wheels 8.5 wide and 19.5 lbs for 10.5 inch. I used a powder coated Black Chrome finish, which has a flash that regular tint does not have. These wheels match up to RE71R 255/35/18 and 285/30/18. Maybe even larger 265/35/19 f and 285/30/19 r.

Cant use 18" 10.5" rears. Only go down to 19" 10.5" rears for SCCA Autox.

19's are even better as you can run RE71R's 265/35/19 in front on a 8.5 inch wheel and 285/35/19 on a 10.5 inch wheel. The weight of the 19 vs 18 is just about 1/2 lb. You can call Ivan at Signature. They have a thread on this wed site as well advertising for GT4 fitments.

Tire rack says a 305/30R19 RE71R will fit a 10.5" wide wheel.

I'm hoping I can get that to fit with the SCCA offset allowances.

roll centers front and rear maybe impacted with that size meat in the rear. The puzzle is how big of tire can match that on the front. I believe 265 is as large as can be mounted on a 8.5 wide wheel. 265 plus 30 equals 295. Creating more understeer by ignoring the 30 rule is putting a lot of faith on a single adjustable swaybar in front to compensate for balance difference. Maybe camber and air pressure will help.

I hadn't heard of the 30 rule - I learn something new about this sport every day.

Does anyone know what wheel and tire sizes Kit Gauthier ran on his 718 at Nats?
