40th with factory recaros and rear seat delete
If you guys follow the 40th jahre facebook page, there's an Italian 40th with option codes for rear seat delete and euro gt3 seats from the factory. I wish it had been an American car so we could use it as evidence for running that setup in Street class. It's evidence that the option codes existed, but not that they could actually be delivered in the US.

Nr. 1328 from Italy
Here's the info regarding that 40th - Nr. 1328
XSE - Bucket Seat in leather Left
XSF - Bucket Seat in leather Right
XSN - Delete the Rear Seats
I've attached some pics that the owner sent me, including the option code sticker showing these codes (I cropped out the VIN but left the 996 120 designation to show it's a 40th).

For better or worse, a lot of options that exist in Europe never made it here -- M030 suspensions for 986s and 996s were lower over there, for example.
If it's any consolation, if I were running a 996 I'd want the rear seat delete, but I don't think that would make or break the car's competitiveness.

just saw this thread.
drool.
i would love if someone in the USA had gt3 seats too on their 40th...
but that would mean I would have to buy it!
actually, the reason I have the 40th instead of the GT3 is because I have little kids.
rear seats make me happy.

GT3 seats as an option on 40th
Here's a link where you can read the German language version of the 911 40th showroom brochure. You'll notice on pages 10/11 the pic of the optional GT3 seat like our friend in Italy has in his car, along with the option codes that were on his bonnet sticker.

Euro Seats and 2004 AE cars
I am installing factory OEM 996 Roll Bar and Euro GT3 seats in my 2004 AE car soon. I had to order the hardware for the Roll Bar install or it would be done already.
I'll post pics once complete.
Thanks for posting this. Looks great!

To revisit this, it still looks like no evidence ever arose of a US car with this. As such I put my stock comfort seats back in for the Tour events and used a torso strap.
About a year and a half ago I paralyzed my right arm (pulled a nerve in my brachial plexus) but it’s been pretty much healed for 8-9 months now. I had been autocrossing with the GT3 seats no problem.
By the end of my first day with the comfort seats I was in agony. I had to get a fistful of Aleve from Matt griffin just to complete my runs. Even with the torso strap, I’m having to use my weakened shoulder muscles to hold myself in place with the steering wheel when I turn left. I think the definitely-legal sport seats would help a bit with the shoulder bolsters. Obviously the questionably-legal but probably not legal GT3 seats do the trick since I did a bunch of events pain-free with those. Even track days in my stock m5 seats were ok.
